IT Services operates three helpdesks which offer various services including user account processing, applications help, fault reporting, IP address allocations, network installation requests, e-mail account queries, and other general computing queries.

The helpdesks are the first point of contact for all IT related enquiries, providing a drop-in service for students and staff, in addition to dealing with queries via email and telephone.

In an attempt to minimise the number of enquiries that we receive, we provide pertinent information online on our FAQ pages, to address common queries and requests for information. Please visit our FAQ area first before contacting us, as you will hopefully find the answer here!

The helpdesks manage all IT related incidents for IT Services, recording and tracking them in the Helpdesk database system, Touchpaper. The majority of incidents are resolved in a single transaction at the helpdesk; however, occassionally we experience major incidents with centrally provided systems, services or infrastructure.

Helpdesk staff work closely with the other support groups within IT Services and will provide regular updates on resolution progress, however please be patient after reporting a fault; some can be difficult to resolve and may take time.

Remember that helpdesk staff have feelings too, so be gentle with us!
